Can I do it?

I just want to assure everyone that this post is going to much shorter than the last. Those of you that complained know who you are.

I am just so glad that all the kids are in bed and I am all alone, catching up on all my dvr recordings. What did I do before that? VCR? I can't even remember those days. After a fun day just hanging out with some girlfriends, the nighttime came and all the kids were ready for bed. All before 7:45pm. Ahhhhh!!!!!! I apologize to any of you girls that had to go through some serious screaming from little Noah. I assure you, I hated it more! But he is still so small and learning. Still . . sorry for the screams. :)

I am staying home all week. Jason has challenged me to something slightly difficult. He gave me a $20 dollar bill and wants me to only spend that this week. TWENTY BUCKS!!! So, in order to keep with it, I am home bound. Target is just simply out of the question!!!! Any ideas of things to do with the kids that are free. I am DETERMINED to make it this week. Jason has very little faith in me, and I WILL prove him wrong. :) And if this week goes well, then maybe next week I will try it again. Maybe a budget is in my future after all. :)

boo, way to call me out in front of all your blog friends. I know you can spend no dollars this week. One day you can go to the park and set up races for the kids. Bring a rope for the finish line or bake cookies with the kids. I spent no money the whole time I lived there, piece of cake.

Um, sorry, I have no confidence in Jason's new budget. Budget is just not a word I think Jana understands. I love you!

I was coming to comment that my answer to your question "Can I do it?" is a big fat no. But McKelle beat me to it. Now you probably will make it all week... but I will wait to believe it when I see it. What are your plans?

that is so what I need to do! I went to IKEA today and then Target.... not a good day for the wallet. I cannot handle myself.
I don't know what to do with my kid in Ann Arbor for free other then play at other people's houses. watch videos, parks, bike rides. We color a lot and put stickers on everything she owns. That is about all I can think of. I should try to do this too... although I am not sure I want to cause myself that much pain!

Yipes. $20? You should make a cardboard sign and go stand on a corner with your kids in scrubby clothes. People will donate lots of $$ and then you can go spend it at Target. AND you can still beat Jason at his own game. HA!

Twenty bucks for one WEEK?! Yikes, isn't that borderline 'spouse abuse'?!?!?

Did he forget he's a doctor? Sounds like something Christopher would say... that's when I took over the bills :)

It's ok Jana, I stay home EVERY week! It's true though, it's hard to think of fun things to do that don't require moola. The library is one of my favorites these days. You can do it, no problem.

Good Luck! I was always looking for free things to do in the burgh, but now that I am away I can't remember what they were. South Park was always a big one for me (take a picnic and play on the playground). I loved the zoo too, but I had a pass. Don't you have a pass to the Children's Museum? Passes are great, because the money is already spent. You could always teach your kids how to clean the house (I think it's never too early to start:)) You can sing the song from Mary Poppins to make it that much more fun!

Oh yeah, and about DVR, we finally got one (like two days ago) you remember, we were part of the VCR crowd (all two of us left in the world).

First question, why the challenge? Did you rack up too many purchases at Nordstrom last week? Well, I know I couldn't do it, so good thing you don't live by me.
